Toll House Cookies Receipe

As mentioned in my newsletter this week my 12 year old daughter Makenzie made some cookies using the Nestle Premium hiteMorsels......they were delicious so here's the receipe for anyone to try and feel free to comment on here and let me know what you think... How to make

TOLL HOUSE white chip chocolate cookies

Ingredients
2 ¼ cups plain flour
2/3 cups NESTLÉ TOLL HOUSE baking cocoa or drinking chocolate
1 tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine, softened
¾ cup granulated sugar
2/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups NESTLE TOLL HOUSE premier white morsels

METHOD
PREHEAT oven to 350ºF

1. Mix together-flour, cocoa baking soda and salt in a small bowl.
2. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl until creamy
3. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
4. Gradually beat in flour mixture.
5. Stir in morsels.
6. Drop by well-rounded teaspoon onto ungreased baking tray.

BAKE for 9-11 minutes, or until centres are set. Cool on baking tray for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

MAKES ABOUT 5 DOZEN COOKIES

Another great idea is to freeze Oreos or Twinkies for 30 mins then dip them in yorkshire pudding batter and deep fry them.
They do this all the time in Texas, Kentucky and southern-north America.

You have taken this recipe from the back of the Nestle packet. One of the problems is that the measurements are all American! Doesn't help for us Europeans!

1 cup = 4 ounces
(troy ounces, at that, not Imperial [UK] ounces - just to add to the confusion. However, they are close enough - 1 Tror [US] ounce ~= 1.04 Imperial [UK] ounces).

So, it means that 1 cup is about 100g. So here's that recipe in metric:

225g plain flour

65g NESTLÉ TOLL HOUSE baking cocoa or drinking chocolate

1 tsp. baking soda

¼ tsp. salt

100g butter or margarine, softened

75g granulated sugar

65g packed brown sugar

1 tsp. vanilla extract

2 large eggs

100g NESTLE TOLL HOUSE premier white morsels

Another idea - don't cook the cookie dough (oh and minus the egg), roll it into little balls and mix it in with vanilla ice cream - MMMmmmMmmmm

Yowza!

You can easily buy measuring cups almost everywhere and they are ideal for American and Canadian recipes. I can't buy anything Nestle - daughter would disapprove. However, there is another option if David would import Ghiradelli's range from San Francisco, I would buy them, otherwise I break up the best organic dark (70% mininum) chocolate and bake my own Betty Crocker recipe, reducing the sugar by 25%.

Thanks Gary! nevery understood the 'cups' measurements and when I looked at various points of reference from books to the internet it seemed to vary as to whether you were weighing liquids/sugar/flour or butter!! Never thought I'd say this but 'thank goodness for metric'!!
